Disperse in cold water first — never add to hot water
Sprinkle Sodium Hyaluronate powder slowly onto cold demineralised water under gentle stirring. Never add HA powder to hot water — rapid hydration of the outer layer creates a gel skin that traps the inner powder, producing undissolved lumps that are impossible to eliminate later. Disperse at ambient temperature, allow 20–30 minutes hydration before heating.

Disperse grades separately then combine
If using multiple MW grades (HMW + LMW), disperse each separately in a small portion of water, then combine after both are fully hydrated. This prevents higher-viscosity HMW from trapping LMW powder during dispersion.

Heat-stable — can be included in heated water phase
Once fully dispersed, Sodium Hyaluronate is heat-stable to 80°C — it can be included in the heated water phase of emulsion production without activity loss. For serum production without a heat phase, simply disperse at ambient temperature and proceed directly to active addition.

pH adjustment after HA addition
HA solutions are buffered and will influence final formula pH. Add HA to the water phase before pH adjustment — measure and adjust pH to your target after all water-phase ingredients are incorporated, not before.

Hygroscopic Storage Warning
Sodium Hyaluronate powder is highly hygroscopic — it absorbs moisture from the air rapidly. Always reseal the container immediately after use. Store in cool, dry conditions below 25°C. Material that has absorbed atmospheric moisture will show increased clumping and reduced dissolution rate — if significant clumping is observed, request a new batch rather than using compromised material.
